Financial technology recruitment business Harrington Starr is teaming up with global investment manager Schroders to host an event advocating for change in the financial services space.
The International Women’s Day: Walking the Talk in Technology event takes place on International Women’s Day Event on Wednesday 8 March. It will feature interactive panels and workshops that bring “allyship to the fore”.
According to the organisers, International Women’s Day “isn’t only a chance to recognise women and to celebrate women; it’s our time to acknowledge that being a woman isn’t a singular experience. We want to celebrate the diverse array of experiences, alongside the challenges women face in the workplace on a daily basis.”
The event has chosen ‘allyship’ as its theme to demonstrate that the goal of inclusion involves everyone.
“We don’t want the burden of change to rest on the marginalised; and in this day of celebration we will encourage action for inclusive change in all workplaces, driven by everyone.”
Hosted at Schroders London HQ , the event will put the spotlight on what makes an ally; how you can be an ally; why allies are so important; and why inclusion includes everyone.
There will also be a live recording of The DEI Discussions podcast series, hosted by Nadia Edwards-Dashti, co-founder of Harrington Starr, followed by a complimentary lunch.
